About The Position

AECOM is seeking an experienced CEI Lead Senior Inspector to join their team and support transportation infrastructure projects in the Tampa, FL area. This role involves performing complex technical assignments in field surveying, construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations. The inspector will also conduct field tests, coordinate and manage lower-level inspectors, and work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator. The position requires reliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, setting project deadlines, providing on-the-job training, and monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and code requirements through daily field inspections and record maintenance. The role also includes participation in punch lists, testing, commissioning, and providing input for area and equipment turnovers. The inspector will work with minimal direction, utilizing extensive experience and independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma plus 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, due to the nature of the work.
  • Valid US Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites.
  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Responsibilities

  • Performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations.
  • Inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
  • Coordinating and managing the lower level inspectors.
  • Performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
  • Responsible for setting own project deadlines.
  • Provides on the job training to new employees.
  • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
  • Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
  • Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
  • Tracks quality assurance progress.
  • Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
