About The Position

Metric Engineering is seeking a qualified CEI Inspector to join our team in Pensacola, FL. This position plays a critical role in monitoring construction projects and ensuring that work is completed in accordance with contract plans, specifications, and applicable standards. The Inspector will be responsible for reporting and documenting construction progress, as well as communicating pertinent project information to the CEI Senior Inspector.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of construction inspection experience, or Minimum of 1 year of bridge and/or roadway constructions experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• CTQP Final Estimates Level 1
• CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1
• CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level 1
• CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level 1
• CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
• IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level 1
• FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
• Nuclear Radiation Safety
• Florida Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Training

Responsibilities

• Inspect roadway and bridge construction activities to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and FDOT requirements.
• Prepare detailed daily reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Monitor construction progress and document quantities, materials, and workmanship.
• Identify and report deficiencies, discrepancies, or potential issues to the CEI Senior Inspector.
• Ensure contractors adhere to project standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
• Assist with final estimates, record keeping, and project closeout documentation.
