Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in construction inspection
  • 1 years of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection

Responsibilities

  • Independently performs the most difficult and complex inspection tasks, including assessing adherence to quality control procedures for steel.
  • Inspection activities are usually concentrated in one of the following areas: soils, concrete, steel, mechanical or electrical.
  • Frequently serves in the capacity of Lead Inspector.
  • Inspects various facets of work on FDOT construction sites to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Documents nonconformance and participates in determining appropriate resolution.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and construction specifications.
