About The Position

CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering and emergency management consulting firm is seeking CEI Inspectors (Roadway Inspectors) in the West Palm, Florida area for current and future projects. Only qualified candidates will be considered. Sponsorship or Relocation is not available.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and perform basic math computations for length, area, and volume.
  • Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection to include one (1) year in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
  • 1+ years of experience with FDOT.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules in accordance with CDR Maguire’s and Owner’s requirements.
  • Check shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations.
  • Keep records of quantities and cost of materials and verify used delivered materials conform to the contract documents.
  • Prepare contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment.
  • Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor and the contractor’s health and safety plan.
  • Check contractor’s layout and verify accuracy.
  • Travel as required and as it relates to above duties or as directed by supervisor.
  • Provide positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company.
  • Other duties which may be required which are commensurate with the position.
