CEI Engineer Intern
About The Position

JMT is ranked #45 on Engineering News-Record’s Top 500 Design Firms. This position is for a CEI Inspector/Engineer Intern in the Fort Pierce, Florida Area, focusing on construction management. The intern will apply standard inspection procedures to ensure structural quality, general safety, and compliance with plans, specifications, and codes during and after construction. Immigration sponsorship is not available, except for qualified candidates eligible for TN visa classification.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the US.
- Must be pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Nice To Haves
- Previous internship experience in construction or inspection.
- Familiarity with construction materials testing.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
- Performs routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
- Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
- Gathers and maintains record documents.
- Makes field notes and computations.
