About The Position

The CDLA Delivery Driver serves customers by safely and efficiently transporting product from the warehouse via tractor trailer to various customers. The role involves properly delivering and unloading product according to customer invoices and company standards. This position is with US3089 Sygma Fort Worth, part of The Sygma Network, Inc.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree, plus 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor trailer driving school will be accepted instead of, or in addition to a high school diploma.
Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
Must be insurable to operate a vehicle.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, Hazmat guidelines, and safe lifting and delivery practices.
Skill in driving over long distances, over a variety of terrains and in varying weather conditions.
Skill in communicating with customers, solving problems, and delivering product.
Ability to drive a tractor-trailer unit both day and night in various traffic and weather conditions and remain alert.
Ability to meet or exceed minimum productivity levels.
Ability to handle hazardous materials and food and restaurant items that are frozen, dry, and refrigerated.
Ability to operate a 3 axle tractor, 45'-48' trailer, straight truck, on-board computer, key pad, and a 2-wheel hand cart.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations.
Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independently.
Ability to solve problems.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

1 year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely transports product from the warehouse to the customer location according to assigned route and ensures timely delivery.
Unloads product from trailer by hand or using a hand cart, down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions, and places it in designated customer storage areas according to specifications.
Picks up, loads, and unloads damaged goods and customer returns, transporting them back to the SYGMA warehouse.
Completes all required paperwork accurately and on time, including DOT logs, inspection reports, vehicle maintenance reports, pre and post-trip reports, invoices, and damage/shortage reports.
Ensures all food safety protocols are met, including maintaining proper temperatures in the delivery vehicle, inspecting product for damages, and preventing cross-contamination.
Maintains sanitary conditions in the tractor, trailer, warehouse, and yard.
Follows preferred work methods and immediately advises management of any unsafe conditions.
Maintains and safely operates all assigned equipment, including hand cart, pallets, load bars, SLS unit, and personal protective equipment.
Develops and maintains good customer relationships through excellent and courteous service and clear communication.
Communicates with management regarding route deviations, trailer or loading issues, and customer or product issues.
Safely transports product picked up via backhauls and line hauls, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
Works assigned schedule and adjusts work hours as needed to meet customer needs, exhibiting regular and predictable attendance.
Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
