About The Position

Waste Pro is now hiring qualified CDL Vacuum Truck Operators for their industrial cleaning operations. As a CDL Class A or B Vac Truck / Roll-Off Truck Operator, you will play a critical role in operating specialized vacuum trucks and Roll-Off trucks. Your responsibilities will include the efficient and safe removal of waste materials, liquids, and sludge from client sites. Expertise in operating vacuum trucks/Roll-Off trucks and adherence to safety protocols are essential for successful project completion and maintaining a high standard of safety.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class A or B license with a clean driving record.
  • Class A or B CDL with tanker endorsement valid for the state in which the position works.
  • Clean driving record meeting Waste Pro driving guidelines.
  • At least 1 year of previous experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL within the past 7 (seven) years.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices.
  • Understanding of Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
  • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Exhibit normal range of body motion.
  • Drive a straight truck with tank observing legal and defensive driving practices.
  • Follow a designated collection route or work schedule.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Maintain written records and service responses.
  • Physically able to push or pull independently (unassisted) 50 pounds between 120-150 a day
  • Physically able to lift independently (unassisted) 50 pounds from the ground to waist height between 120-150 a day
  • Physically able to get up and down from the cab of a commercial motor vehicle between 120-150 a day
  • Physically able to bend at the waist and knees between 120-150 a day
  • Physically able to work 8 to 12 hours in extreme weather conditions? (heat, cold, rain and snow)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a vacuum truck operator or similar role in an industrial cleaning or waste management environment.
  • Strong knowledge of vacuum truck operations, roll-off truck operations, including setup, operation, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with waste management and disposal regulations, including knowledge of hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling.
  • Understanding of relevant safety regulations, such as OSHA standards and confined space entry procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maneuver CDL Class A or B vacuum trucks / Roll-Off trucks, adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Perform efficient removal of various waste materials, liquids, sludge, and debris from tanks, pits, vessels, and other industrial structures.
  • Utilize vacuum equipment, hoses, and attachments to effectively and safely complete cleaning tasks.
  • Ensure proper handling, transportation, and disposal of waste materials in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Adhere to waste management protocols, including identifying and segregating hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of waste removal activities, including manifests and disposal records.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of vacuum trucks / roll-off trucks, ensuring they are in proper working condition and reporting any issues promptly.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, inspecting hoses and fittings, cables and cleaning filters.
  • Communicate equipment repair or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions, actively promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance among team members.
  • Identify potential hazards and report safety concerns to supervisors, suggesting improvements to enhance safety measures and practices.
  • Accurately record and maintain job-specific documentation, including work orders, inspection reports, and incident reports.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide detailed and accurate information for project reports, including completed tasks, challenges encountered, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with other team members, including supervisors and project managers, to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion.
  • Support and assist colleagues with various tasks as needed, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
