Safely operates a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on designated routes. This role involves participating and cooperating in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by the Route Manager. The driver will work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts. All duties will be performed as scheduled by the Route Manager or Dispatch, with assistance provided to other company drivers as directed. The driver must notify the Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage, and notify Dispatch or Route Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick-ups or problems that arise on the route. Communication with customers regarding requests or issues is also a key part of the role. The driver is responsible for completely dumping all containers, leaving the customer’s location clean and free of debris, and completing and submitting customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed. Containers must be positioned on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers are set in an upright position, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic. The driver will follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking in at the end of the route.
