They transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial Drivers pick up containers of waste or recyclable material, which may weigh more than 1,000 pounds and may need to be moved to a pickup staging area. Residential Drivers collect household waste or recyclable material. Roll-off Drivers prepare, load, and transport large open-top and compactor containers from customer locations. Drivers conduct and document vehicle inspections, communicate safety and service issues, follow assigned routes, complete end-of-day documentation, and help meet customer needs. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to applicable drug and alcohol testing. The posting lists a pay rate of $26 per hour, depending on experience, and a Monday–Friday schedule with a 5:30 a.m. start and rotational Saturdays. Drivers are described as home at night and on weekends.
