The CDL Truck Driver – Local at the Milwaukee, WI site will conduct transportation operations and assist in warehousing while providing safe, timely transportation of chemicals, components, and equipment on public roadways between MilliporeSigma facilities. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License
  • 1+ years of experience driving trucks with 80,000 Gross Vehicle Weight
  • HAZMAT, EAP and drug and alcohol certification
  • Current DOT Medical Card

Nice To Haves

  • 6 + years of truck driving experience
  • Class ABC Commercial Driver’s License w/Hazmat endorsements, and air brake restriction lifted
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Experience with proper lifting techniques, utilizing warehouse location logic, and performing inventory tracking using SAP
  • Experience with Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs) and other common warehouse machinery

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain accurate driver logs, and document vehicle defects to ensure full DOT and regulatory compliance
  • Securely transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials on public roads without violations, while independently managing route planning and schedule adjustments to optimize delivery efficiency.
  • Prioritize and inspect materials for damage and stability, ensuring all loads—including hazardous materials—are correctly labeled, documented, and legally segregated for safe transport using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Manage seamless retrieval and delivery of materials to designated staging areas, ensuring all shipments are accompanied by accurate documentation and inventory tracking systems are updated in real-time.
  • Efficiently stage, palletize, and store materials according to specific temperature and hazard requirements, utilizing material handling equipment to pull and prepare compliant shipments for transport.
