Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
  • Hazmat/tanker endorsement
  • Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment
  • Ability to safely drive various vehicles
  • Ability to establish and effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
  • Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must have at least 2 years recent driving experience with a Class A CDL
  • Must have minimal infractions on a 3 year MVR report
  • Must have a current Class A CDL and DOT card
  • Must be able to pass a road test administered by the company
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, one (1) year relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including protocols, standard operating procedures, customer orders, and pick tickets.
  • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Nice To Haves

  • Yard dog/tractor experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate company owned and leased trucks over 4 tons to facilitate shipping and receiving operations
  • Operate trucks for the delivery, pickup and relocation of customer products and materials
  • This position will be on-site, no miles driven – focus on trailer moves in the yard
  • Perform required before, during and after operation “user maintenance” and provide required reports
  • Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
  • Operate material handling equipment
  • Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs
  • Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations
  • Maintain a level of professionalism at all times
