Local CDL Trash Driver
About The Position
We are looking for a safety conscious CDL Route Driver to join the team at Road Runner Waste in ABQ, NM. This role involves safely operating a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste, servicing customers, performing routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, and operating hydraulic controls to load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities. The position requires courteous interaction with customers and may involve other miscellaneous job-related duties. The work environment involves physical risks, exposure to weather conditions, fumes, and vibration, with a moderate noise level.
Requirements
- Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
Nice To Haves
- Waste experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
- Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
- Perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
- Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
- Courteous interaction with customers.
- Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
