Safely operates a tractor-trailer or a straight truck with a pup trailer (or other vehicle requiring a Class A CDL) to perform assigned duties on designated routes. This role involves operating vehicles in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements, maintaining a clean and safe vehicle, and performing pre- and post-trip inspections. The driver will immediately report any unsafe situations or unscheduled service calls to the Operations Manager and Dispatch. Participation in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings is required. The driver will work closely with Operations Managers and Dispatch to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts. All duties will be performed as scheduled, assisting other company drivers as directed. The driver must notify the Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage, as well as any issues encountered on the route such as blocked containers or services that cannot be completed. Communication of customer requests, issues, or service changes to Operations Manager and Dispatch is essential. The driver will completely dump all containers, leave the customer’s location clean, and position containers in a manner that does not block driveways or traffic. Following route assignments and completing all documentation at the end of the route is also required.
