About The Position

Darling Ingredients is looking to hire a Tank Maintenance / Semi Driver in the Calhoun GA area. This Tank Maintenance / Semi delivery position earns competitive pay, depending on experience. As a Tank Maintenance / Semi Driver, you are responsible for maintaining, installing and removing in field equipment at customer locations throughout Georgia. Also maintaining, transferring new and used containers in inventory. For the Semi side, you are responsible for collecting and transporting raw materials from our broad customer base back to facilities and transfer stations. Our customers range in size from small-scale butchers, grocers, and restaurants up to large-scale slaughterhouses and food processors. You manage your route with an onboard computer (OBC) and also keep an up-to-date backup paper log for compliance purposes. Taking responsibility for your truck, you keep it clean and complete a vehicle condition report on a daily basis. You provide exceptional professional service to all customers and follow all laws and regulations. You love that you get to hit the road for a living, while still being home every night!

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement
  • Good driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Highly organized with superior time management skills
  • Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations
  • Ability to adapt to changes and work well with others

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience operating a commercial vehicle in a route delivery setting
  • Experience with truck hydraulics

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining, installing and removing in field equipment at customer locations throughout Georgia.
