The Driver Shuttle is a non-touch freight position and is responsible for pulling finished goods from the production plant and raw materials from the warehouse to the plant. This role ensures all loads are picked up from the plant as they are loaded with no delays and that all trailers are always in place for both the plant and the warehouse for successful startups and shutdowns. The driver is responsible for on-time deliveries of finished goods and raw materials, ensuring all paperwork and bills of lading are filled out correctly before pulling loads, and that all loads either going in or out of the plant are sealed. The role also involves filling out and maintaining daily inspection sheets for shuttle tractors/trailers and notifying the appropriate departments of any problems. Drivers are expected to work productively with peers, management, and customers to achieve facility productivity goals (12-14 loads pulled per shift, per driver). They must report lack of work or production issues immediately to their supervisor and be willing to work in the warehouse as needed to maintain productivity. Occasional Over the Road driving may be required, along with performing appropriate duties as assigned by management.
