About The Position

This position involves loading, driving, and unloading a delivery truck on an assigned route, providing customer service and communication from the field, and ensuring product delivery meets Pella quality standards. Assigned teams and tasks may vary based on business necessity. This is a Full-Time role with hours from 6:00am-2:30pm, including guaranteed overtime and one overnight run per week. Candidates must currently possess an Active Class A CDL. The pay range for this role is $26-$32/hour, with eligibility for supplemental earnings such as overtime. Actual compensation packages are determined by factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, specific work geography, internal equity, and market data.

Requirements

  • Must possess an active Class A CDL
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Dependable work history
  • May be expected to develop proficiency in Pella proprietary software (i.e. PQM, POETS, OMS, etc.) and/or company email systems (Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills are required as well as good customer service skills (in person or via the phone)
  • Must be a team player and exhibit a strong desire to learn and promote self-growth
  • Must be pro-active, self-motivated, and have a demonstrated ability to follow assignments through to completion
  • Attention to detail is required
  • Must be able to develop trust, respect, and confidence of customers, coworkers and managers
  • Must present in a clean and neat physical appearance
  • Ability to subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
  • Ability to perform calculations using units of money, time, measurement, etc.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, length, width, height, and depth

Nice To Haves

  • Prior delivery experience preferred
  • Familiarity with computers preferred

Responsibilities

  • Drives truck loaded with products to customer jobsite or other predetermined location, occasionally picks-up return products
  • Loads and unloads trucks per delivery paperwork
  • Works in a way that protects the product from damage during the delivery process
  • Performs visual quality inspections on product while loading and unloading
  • Review invoices and match them to assembled products line by line in order to ensure no mistakes made and locate missing products and/or initiate corrections
  • Notifies manager or coworkers of shortages, discrepancies or anticipated needs
  • Report product returns, complaints by customers to managers
  • Obtains customer signature as a verification of delivery or pick-up
  • Develop continuous improvement suggestions
  • Ensure vehicle is operated in safe manner at all times, in all conditions
  • Reports maintenance needs on delivery vehicles
  • Complete daily logs, equipment reports, trip reports, and any other documents as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Meets company safety requirements by keeping work area neat and clean, following safety precautions and wearing required safety apparel (i.e. shoes, safety glasses, fall protection, seat belt, etc.)
