About The Position

ROGUE DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING, Inc. a Waste Connections company is looking to hire a CDL Route Driver to join the team! This position involves safely operating collection equipment for the efficient and effective collection of solid waste, and delivering those materials to a designated disposal facility. The driver will be responsible for completing required administrative paperwork using an On-Board-Computer to maintain accurate company records and customer accounts. This position requires working independently, and drivers are expected to deliver excellence in customer service at all times. Cross-training in Automated Side Load Garbage Trucks, Front Load Garbage Trucks, and Roll Off Trucks may occur.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A or B CDL license with air brake endorsement.
  • Must pass criminal background check, drug panel screening and motor vehicle report to be eligible for employment.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws.
  • Ability to work a physically demanding job. Loading and unloading cans with no helpers.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug testing and random selection drug and alcohol testing per DOT requirements and Company policy.
  • Must pass post offer employment examinations including: Background Check, MVR Check (Clean Driving Record), Drug screen, Physical Capacity exam.

Nice To Haves

  • May be cross trained in Automated Side Load Garbage Trucks, Front Load Garbage Trucks, and Roll Off Trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate collection equipment for the efficient and effective collection of solid waste, and delivering those materials to a designated disposal facility.
  • Complete required administrative paperwork by use of an On-Board-Computer to maintain accurate company records and customer accounts.
  • Work independently and deliver excellence in customer service at all times.
  • Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
  • Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, moving waste bins to positions accessible by truck, and closing all enclosure gates as necessary, at times with no helpers.
  • Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
  • Clean up the area around accidental waste spills.
  • Complete daily reports on pre and post trip inspections of equipment.
  • Fuel vehicle daily.
  • Maintain the physical appearance of the equipment, including routine washing.
  • Monitor over and under filled carts/containers to assess changing service requirements.
  • Monitor the condition and repair needs of existing carts/containers.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Courteous interaction with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
