CDL Route Driver
About The Position
We are looking for a safety conscience Refuse Route Driver to join the team at our Hauling location in Fremont, NE. This role involves safely operating a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste, performing routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, and interacting courteously with customers. The position requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading, sometimes without assistance. A typical schedule is Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays, and involves a 45-55 hour work week, starting at 4 am until the route is completed.
Requirements
- Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement as a minimum.
- Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.
Nice To Haves
- Waste experience preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
- Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
- Perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
- Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
- Courteous interaction with customers.
- Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
