About The Position

The CDL Roll-Off Driver safely, efficiently, and courteously provides waste removal services to customers across multiple lines of business. The driver collects waste from customer sites and transports it to post-collection facilities for proper disposal, while following a local route that brings the driver home daily.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or B.
• At least one year of commercial driving experience or completion of a certified CDL school program.
• Ability to meet criteria for safety-sensitive functions and demonstrate safe operation of trucks and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located; visa sponsorship is not provided.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a roll-off truck and ancillary equipment to service customer routes.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and maintain accurate truck reports and route documentation.
• Maintain route quality standards and follow prescribed driving techniques to ensure vehicle safety and efficiency.
• Promptly communicate potential safety hazards, mechanical issues, or service interruptions to supervisors and mechanics.
• Comply with federal, state or provincial, local, and company safety rules, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Keep the vehicle cab interior and exterior clean and represent GFL with a professional demeanor.
• Collect waste from customer sites and transport it to post-collection facilities for proper disposal.
