Operates hazardous waste transportation vehicle (e.g., Flatbed or Van Trailers, End Dump, 10-Wheeler and Roll-Off) with skill and proficiency conforming to all rules and regulations required for a Hazardous Material DOT-Licensed commercial hauler. Safely operates a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on commercial routes. This role operates in both inside gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. The driver is responsible for performing daily safety checks, routine cleaning of equipment, pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and minor maintenance. They must report all maintenance problems, accidents, illnesses, injuries, unsafe conditions, hazards, and traffic violations to their supervisor immediately. The driver operates hydraulic loading mechanisms, loads/unloads and transports materials safely, and ensures loads are secure. They must adhere to DOT Hours of Service rules, communicate professionally with customers, and maintain accurate records. The position requires responding to emergencies within the scope of training and cooperating with colleagues as a team member. In-depth knowledge of DOT rules and regulations, skills in operating various equipment, and effective time management are essential. The driver may occasionally work alone.
