CDL Residential ASL Driver
About The Position
The Residential ASL Driver safely, efficiently, and courteously provides waste-removal services to residential customers. The driver operates a modern automated side-loading truck on assigned curbside and/or backdoor routes, collects solid waste or recyclables, and transports them to post-collection facilities. This solo-operator position emphasizes independence, precision, safety, and customer service. The role involves local routes, with drivers home every night, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. It also includes regular vehicle checks and maintenance and requires visual focus and depth perception for safe travel through residential areas.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- At least 2 years of commercial driving experience or a CDL school certificate.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds repetitively.
- Ability to back up 120 or more feet in tight spaces.
- Ability to adapt to changing weather conditions and route needs.
- Visual focus and depth perception sufficient to navigate high-traffic residential areas safely.
Responsibilities
- Operate automated side-loading trucks and hydraulic systems.
- Collect solid waste or recyclables on assigned residential routes and transport them to post-collection facilities.
- Provide courteous service to customers and maintain a professional demeanor as a representative of the company.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Keep the vehicle clean.
- Work with supervisors to optimize routes and improve efficiency.
- Recognize unacceptable waste materials.
