About The Position

Waste Pro of Texas is hiring Portalet Drivers. OSHA and TWIC card are required. This position involves operating a company service truck and driving to various locations to service, pump, and clean portable restrooms or holding tanks. Work is performed under supervision and performance is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation of routes and discussion of problems.

Requirements

  • Must have a Class A or B CDL with tanker endorsement valid for the state in which the position works.
  • Must have a clean driving record meeting Waste Pro driving guidelines.
  • At least 1 year of previous experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL within the past 7 (seven) years.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices.
  • Understand Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
  • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Exhibit normal range of body motion.
  • Drive a straight truck with tank observing legal and defensive driving practices.
  • Manipulate heavy equipment control levers.
  • Follow a designated collection route or work schedule.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Maintain written records and service responses.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination required.
  • Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and supervisors, understand highway and traffic signals, and be able to make legible entries on paperwork.
  • OSHA card required.
  • TWIC card required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive a service truck to and from pre-designated work sites based on daily routing information in accordance with Decision Driving principles.
  • Deliver and return portable restrooms, service portable restrooms, holding tanks, sinks, showers, etc., at various work sites by following the Company's servicing guidelines.
  • Drain moisture trap, oil catch muffler, and maintain oil level in pump.
  • Empty truck at pump station as needed.
  • Restock paper products, hand sanitizer, soap, etc. in units being serviced.
  • Clean interior and exterior of units, make repairs as needed, and add chemical solution to portable restroom units.
  • Provide a high level of service through courteous and expeditious customer service in all aspects of service to customers.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude towards company, customer and municipal goals.
  • Answer questions for customers and direct them to contact Customer Service or Dispatch for additional information.
  • Perform Daily Pre and Post Trip inspections as set forth by Waste Pro procedures and D.O.T. guidelines.
  • Complete Safety Lane activity and DVIR daily in accordance with Waste Pro safety lane guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean truck and wash exterior weekly.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit required company and regulation-mandated reports and documents.
  • Perform other tasks as required, such as assisting other routes for completion, attending community events, or delivery of bins and/or carts.
  • Be responsible for all persons working on vehicle during the designated route.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
  • May be required to work during emergency situations.
  • Attend and participate in corporation-sponsored training courses as assigned.
  • Keep up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro USA.
  • Perform any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
