CDL Local Yard Hostler Driver (Home Daily!) Night Shift
About The Position
US 1 Shorthaul is seeking a dedicated CDL Local Yard Hostler Driver for a night shift position. This role involves moving trailers in and out of docks using yard goats, performing yard audits, and conducting pre- and post-trip inspections. The position is part-time, non-exempt (hourly), and offers weekly pay. While this role is primarily focused on yard operations, it requires adherence to safety-sensitive functions and may involve other duties assigned by management. The company emphasizes integrity, experience, and safety in its logistics services across 48 states, utilizing advanced technology for efficient and tailored solutions for its customers.
Requirements
- Experience backing 48' to 53' trailers (including in tight spaces and to dock doors)
- Minimum of 12 months of over the road or trailer spotting, verifiable experience in the last 3 years
- Class A CDL (preferred)
- Possess a team-player attitude
- Ability to read, understand, and demonstrate safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to request and complete trailer moves in the Yard Management System (YMS)
- Attention to detail
- Must pass pre-hire background and drug test
Responsibilities
- Correctly move trailers in and out of dock with yard goats
- Accurately perform yard audits at end of shift
- Proper pre- and post-trip inspections and submitting reports indicating truck conditions
- Adhere to guidelines of safety-sensitive functions pertaining to job responsibilities within yard
- Responsible for drop and hook
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
