About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Transport Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of construction equipment, machinery, attachments, and related materials to and from jobsites, yards, vendors, and other designated locations. This position requires compliance with all applicable DOT regulations, Company safety policies, and equipment securement requirements. The driver is responsible for performing inspections, securing loads, maintaining required records, and ensuring equipment is delivered safely and on schedule.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class A driver's license.
  • Acceptable driving record and ability to meet Company insurability requirements.
  • Ability to pass required DOT drug and alcohol testing and maintain DOT qualification standards.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, cargo securement requirements, and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment for loading and unloading purposes when authorized.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Valid CDL Class A License (Required)
  • Current DOT Medical Certification (Required)
  • FMCSA Clearinghouse Compliance (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience hauling heavy equipment, oversized loads, or construction equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Company trucks and trailers, including lowboy, equipment, and flatbed trailers.
  • Transport heavy equipment, construction machinery, tools, and materials between jobsites and Company facilities.
  • Load, unload, and secure equipment in accordance with DOT cargo securement regulations and Company procedures.
  • Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections.
  • Complete and maintain required DOT logs, inspection reports, and transportation records.
  • Verify equipment condition before and after transport and report any damage or maintenance concerns.
  • Coordinate equipment movements with supervisors, dispatch, and project personnel.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
  • Assist with basic equipment operation for loading and unloading when qualified and authorized.
  • Maintain cleanliness and general condition of assigned vehicles and trailers.
  • Respond to changing operational needs and schedules, including occasional after-hours or emergency transport requests.
  • Follow all Company safety policies, procedures, and client site requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
