About The Position

Kiewit is seeking experienced Truck Drivers to support road construction, grading, and earthmoving operations near Study Butte, Texas. The role involves operating medium to large-sized trucks, transporting hazardous materials and explosives between company work sites using private roads and public highways. Responsibilities include loading, transporting, and handling explosives in accordance with safety requirements, maintaining explosives inventory and documentation, and coordinating with engineers on inventory tracking and blasting operations. The driver will also secure cargo for transport, obtain proper documentation before moving materials, collect delivery instructions, and perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections. Basic vehicle maintenance and log keeping are also required.

Requirements

Valid CDL License
Hazmat Endorsement required
Ability to transport and handle explosives in accordance with all federal, state, and company safety regulations
Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing

Responsibilities

Operate medium to large-sized trucks, transporting hazardous materials and explosives between company work sites using private roads and public highways.
Load, transport, and handle explosives in accordance with safety requirements.
Maintain explosives inventory and documentation, and coordinate with engineers on inventory tracking and blasting operations.
Secure cargo for transport, using rope, blocks, or covers.
Obtain proper and complete documentation prior to moving materials.
Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections and report any defects, damage, or repairs needed.
Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or fluids.
Maintain logs of working hours, or of vehicle maintenance, following applicable state and federal regulations.
