Franklin Logistics is on the hunt for a driven (literally!) Class A driver to join the team. This is an hourly position with overtime kicking in after 40 hours. The role involves solo driving routes with no-touch freight and no tarping. Drivers will be home every night, working Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Ability to operate tractor trailers in various weather and traffic conditions
  • Strong attention to safety, documentation accuracy, and time management.
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections and connect/disconnect trailers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating electronic logging devices (ELDs) preferred.
  • Chaining experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and Hours of Service regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class A flatbed tractor-trailer to transport freight between warehouses, distribution centers, customers, and vendor locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the safe operation of tractors, trailers, and equipment.
  • Transport freight safely while adhering to all company, DOT, FMCSA, and state regulations.
  • Verify shipping paperwork, bills of lading, and delivery documentation for accuracy.
  • Inspect loads before departure to confirm they have been properly loaded, secured, and tarped by warehouse personnel. Secure loads with straps if required.
  • Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules while maintaining on-time pickups and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs), inspection reports, mileage records, and other required transportation documentation.
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding route progress, delivery status, delays, traffic conditions, or equipment issues.
  • Report accidents, vehicle defects, maintenance needs, and safety concerns promptly.
  • Perform coupling and uncoupling of trailers and complete trailer safety inspections before transport.
  • Keep tractors and trailers clean and in safe operating condition.
  • Comply with all Hours of Service (HOS) requirements and company safety policies and requirements.
