About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring a CDL Truck Driver in Belton, South Carolina, to safely operate a garbage truck on assigned routes and collect solid waste. The role involves servicing customers listed on route sheets or assigned by a dispatcher, inspecting the vehicle before and after trips, loading and unloading refuse, operating hydraulic hand controls, and disposing of trash at designated facilities. Drivers interact courteously with customers and perform other job-related duties as assigned. Waste experience is preferred but not required. The position is overtime eligible and includes paid training, a boot allowance, provided uniforms, monthly safety bonuses, and the opportunity for an annual team safety bonus.

Requirements

Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
Ability and experience operating a manual-transmission CDL vehicle.
Clean safety and driving record.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and repeatedly climb in and out of the truck cab, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and grasp.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the CDL vehicle and identify areas requiring attention.
Perform physically demanding loading and unloading work, sometimes without helpers.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
Interact courteously with customers.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
