About The Position

Iron Eagle specializes in industrial services, focusing on industrial cleaning, emergency spill response, and waste management. We are expanding our operations and seeking CDL DRIVERS to join our team! We have locations in Isanti, Hastings, and St. Paul, MN. You will report to a "home base" location but travel to all shop locations is expected. Some travel is required. We are seeking CDL Drivers to operate specialized equipment for environmental remediation and hazardous waste management. You will operate a variety of heavy and light duty trucks/work equipment at our customer sites; including vacuum trucks, guzzlers, and roll offs. This role is responsible for performing driving and non-driving duties on & off customer sites associated with hazardous waste clean-up and transport. This role combines professional driving with technical expertise in handling potentially dangerous materials and operating complex vacuum/pumping systems.

Requirements

  • CDL (Class A) Manual, Tanker, and HazMat Endorsements
  • Must successfully complete a background check and DOT Drug Test & Physical Examination as per OSHA and FMCSA regulatory guidelines
  • Must adhere to on-call schedule (for emergency response) and occasional overnight travel

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-trip inspections
  • Perform light maintenance and repairs
  • Load/unload Vac Trucks, Transports, and Rolloffs, etc.
  • Occasional long-distance hauling (approx. 10%)
  • Load and secure heavy equipment
  • Maintain proper placarding and labeling of vehicles
  • Complete all necessary documentation for DOT/MnDOT, etc.
  • Operate Class A/B commercial vehicles including vacuum trucks, pump trucks, roll-off trucks, and specialized hazmat transport vehicles
  • Navigate to industrial sites, refineries, chemical facilities, and emergency response locations
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on complex equipment systems
  • Maintain accurate driver logs and equipment maintenance records
  • Transport hazardous waste in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety protocols
  • Load and unload various waste streams including liquids, sludges, and contaminated materials
  • Properly secure and manifest hazardous cargo for transport
  • Set up and operate industrial vacuum trucks with high-capacity pumping systems
  • Connect appropriate hoses, fittings, and manifolds for different tank configurations
  • Operate positive displacement pumps, centrifugal pumps, and compressed air systems
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform basic field repairs
  • Respond to oil spills, chemical releases, and environmental incidents
  • Deploy containment booms, absorbent materials, and recovery equipment
  • Work extended hours during emergency situations and weather events
  • Coordinate with incident commanders and regulatory agencies on-site
  • Enter confined spaces following proper safety procedures and permitting
  • Operate high-pressure washing systems and specialized cleaning equipment
  • Remove sludges, scale, and hazardous residues from storage tanks and process vessels
  • Set up ventilation and atmospheric monitoring equipment
