About The Position

The Ready-Mix Driver is responsible for transporting concrete to/from suppliers and/or to customer job sites. Driver must comply with all DOT/CDL requirements throughout their employment.

Requirements

  • High School Degree, GED or equivalent.
  • Operate a Motor Vehicle over 26,000 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to understand and follow operational procedures.
  • Must pass all DOT/CDL driving requirements:
  • Valid CDL class License
  • Clear Motor Vehicle Record Check
  • Ability to pass a federal motor carrier drug/alcohol screening and physical.
  • Pass DOT Clearinghouse inspection.
  • Maintain all DOT/CDL requirements throughout your employment.
  • Must have ability to read, write and speak English at a moderate to proficient level.
  • Must be able to do simple math.
  • Must have the ability to work independently.
  • Must have the ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-trip inspection of the vehicle and report any issues.
  • Transport goods from or to suppliers and to customers locations.
  • Add fiber to concrete as needed.
  • Drive truck in safe manner to jobs arriving with desired slump and/or extra products.
  • Back up or pull into jobsites, must be able to maneuver truck in uneven and poor terrain.
  • Place chutes from fender to main chute on front of truck.
  • Unload concrete in courteous manner.
  • Keep truck clean both inside and outside.
  • Report truck defects, accidents, or violations as soon as possible.
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions.
  • Document and log work or delivered loads by BOL’s on tablet or turn them into the batch house.
  • Receive customer or loader operator stamp or signatures.
  • Fuel truck when needed, turn in fuel receipts for reimbursement.
  • Comply with all truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and report any changes to driving record.
  • Abide by all health and safety procedures by maneuvering safely around plant and customer sites.
  • Submit vehicle inspection report daily.
  • Maintain professionalism and friendliness management, co-workers and customers at all time.
  • Fulfill other tasks as requested by management.
