About The Position

Alaska Waste, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety-conscious Driver to join our team in Juneau, AK! The schedule will be 4 weekdays, 10 hour daytime shifts, with some required weekend work. The starting rate will be $27.00 per hour. We are also offering a Stay on Bonus of $5,000, paid out within your first year of employment. The job also comes with regular wage increases, great family benefits, 401k with a company match, paid vacation, etc.

Requirements

Valid driver's license is required.
Clean driving record.
Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Nice To Haves

Commercial driver's license is preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Ability to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
