About The Position

Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscience CDL Route Driver to join our GROWING team in Bridgeton, MO. This role involves safely operating a garbage truck on specified routes, performing routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, and interacting courteously with customers. The job requires physical stamina for loading and unloading, and exposure to various weather conditions and work environments. Waste Connections is an integrated solid waste services company focused on providing collection, transfer, disposal, and recycling services. Requirements

  • Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement as a minimum.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
  • Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday with some Saturdays.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older to operate a commercial vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Waste experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
  • Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
  • Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
  • Courteous interaction with our customers.
  • Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
