About The Position

Waste Connections is looking for a safety-conscious CDL Route Driver to join our team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This role involves safely operating a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste, performing routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, and interacting courteously with customers. The job requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading, and operating hydraulic controls. While waste experience is preferred, it is not required.

Requirements

Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement as a minimum.
Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.
Must be 21 years of age or older to comply with FMCSA.

Waste experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
Courteous interaction with our customers.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
