About The Position

Foundation Building Materials (FBM) is hiring a CDL Driver (Boom Operator) to deliver construction materials safely and efficiently to customer project sites. The role involves local routes, daily home time, operating company vehicles including trucks up to 26 feet, and providing professional customer service. Drivers unload, verify, protect, move, and stage materials according to customer instructions, while following applicable Department of Transportation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and company safety requirements. The position also includes vehicle inspections, maintaining an organized warehouse environment, participating in required meetings and training, and supporting the company’s values of safety, customer focus, teamwork, and integrity. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits. The role reports to the Branch Manager.

Requirements

Valid Class A or Class B CDL.
At least 1 year of consistent commercial driving experience.
Boom truck operating experience.
Knowledge of DOT compliance and truck inspection procedures.
Experience loading and securing materials for transport.
Ability to repeatedly lift 75–100 pounds.
Ability to lift and/or move 80 pounds occasionally and climb ladders while carrying up to 50 pounds.
Ability to use hands and arms frequently for equipment operation, grasping, and manipulation.
Ability to drive or sit in a truck, forklift, or similar equipment for multiple hours per day.
Ability to push and pull loaded carts over varying distances and surfaces; some functions may be performed as a team.
Ability to learn to operate a forklift and other company vehicles and to use tools and equipment such as dollies, flat carts, and rock carts.
Basic understanding of forklift and other equipment operation.
Basic understanding of building materials.
Ability to attend and participate in required meetings and training.

Forklift operating experience; certification may be required.

Responsibilities

Safely operate company vehicles, including trucks up to 26 feet, in compliance with DOT regulations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are roadworthy.
Deliver materials to customer project sites on time and provide excellent customer service.
Unload materials and verify deliveries against packing slips.
Unload, protect, move, and stage materials according to customer directives.
Represent the company professionally and courteously during deliveries.
Follow driving regulations, safety protocols, OSHA requirements, and proper lifting techniques; wear appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes, and clothing.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
Attend and participate in required meetings and company training programs.

Perform other duties as assigned.
