About The Position

Drives gasoline or diesel-powered tractor trailer combination or other truck to transport and deliver products or materials in loose or packaged form. This is a 2nd shift position, working from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Fridays, with Saturdays for overtime as needed. The role involves working 2 hours on the dock and 6 hours in the truck for local runs, not Over-The-Road (OTR).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Valid Oklahoma Commercial Drivers License

Responsibilities

  • Drives truck to destination.
  • Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
  • Maintains driver log according to DOT and I.C.C. regulations.
  • Assists workers in loading and unloading truck.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Practices the highest level of responsibility and safety.
  • Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product while continuously striving for improvement in all materials processes.
  • Operates forklift.
  • Cleans and performs operator maintenance on assigned equipment and is responsible for maintaining a quality work environment including good housekeeping (i.e. 5S).
  • Responsible for development and adherence to the policies, procedures and instructions of the MMOG and ISO 14001 systems.
  • Ensures regular and reliable attendance.
