About The Position

The Delivery Truck Driver safely operates a company truck with a typical weight capacity of 30,000–55,000 pounds GVW. The role includes completing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection reports, loading and securing materials, delivering materials to customer locations, and processing customer delivery paperwork. The driver also collects and secures payments when applicable and reports delivery or customer issues to dispatch. Travel is required, and the position requires overtime as business needs dictate.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of truck driving experience with a proven safe-driving record.
Possess a Class A or Class B CDL.
Proficiency driving manual-transmission trucks.
Ability to operate a gate lift.
Proficiency operating an electric pallet jack.
Experience handling commercial and residential deliveries.
Ability to service all regional distribution centers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to travel.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
At least 5 years of forklift experience.
At least 5 years of truck driving experience with a proven safe-driving record.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a heavy-load truck.
Ensure materials are secured at the beginning of the shift and monitor them after each delivery.
Complete and return customer delivery paperwork at the end of each shift.
Collect, document, and securely handle money received, ensuring it aligns with customer paperwork.
Report material damage or customer-related issues to dispatch.
Perform daily pre- and post-trip truck inspections (DVIR).
Seek supervisor guidance on non-routine or problem areas.
Perform and document inspections to keep the truck and equipment in good condition.
