About The Position

Under supervision, operates a truck picking up steel sided flat bed or roll-off containers within a specified area. The role involves waiting to be loaded by Alter or customers, driving loads to customers or Alter, and driving semis around the yard while moving scrap material. The position may also involve operating equipment within the yard for loading or moving scrap material, wearing necessary PPE, and following company safety standards.

Requirements

• Must have Class A CDL or Class B CDL (for straight truck) license.
• Minimum 1-3 years verifiable experience.
• Able to lift a minimum of 30-50 lbs. and 100+lbs on 2-person lift.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• General knowledge of difference between ferrous and non-ferrous material preferred.
• Equipment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drives semis around the yard while moving scrap material.
• May operate equipment within the yard, loading or moving scrap material.
• Wears all necessary PPE when working in the yard.
• Follows company safety standards at all times.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
