About The Position
Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer or box truck to deliver finished product to customers in accordance with state and federal laws. This role involves supporting on-time delivery by transporting loads by established route to the proper destination as efficiently as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations. The driver will also inspect trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and verify product count before leaving the facility. Accurate completion and submission of documentation, such as bills of lading, is also a key responsibility.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- CDLA License
- Prior experience driving in large vehicles, such as box truck or similar
- Demonstrated experience practicing safe driving practices
- Previous experience delivering and handling freight preferred
- Strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer or box truck to deliver finished product to customers.
- Comply with Driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and as required by DOT.
- Maintain vehicle in accordance with Elkhart Transportation management policy.
- Operate vehicle in a safe and efficient manner complying with company policy and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
- Support on-time delivery by transporting loads by established route to proper destination as efficient as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Inspect trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and it is the correct load before leaving facility.
- Verify product count while truck is being loaded.
- Obtain correct acknowledgement or signature and date for bill of lading and necessary signatures and date.
- Return properly completed documentation to Transportation Manager.
- Comply with performance measures.
