About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company established in 1978. With headquarters in St. Cloud, MN, and operations expanding throughout the Midwest, we employ over 1,800 people. The Support CDL Driver plays a crucial role in our daily delivery operations by filling in on open or unassigned routes. This position requires flexibility to adapt to varying routes and schedules while upholding our high standards for safety, service, and delivery.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR successfully complete Company paid CDL training program
• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned routes based on business needs
• Assist drivers with daily morning duties such as sorting freight, loading trucks and other duties as needed
• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Collect payments as needed
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments
• Travel may be required
• Perform other required duties as assigned
