About The Position

The Delivery Merchandiser – Small Store Relief CDL is a touch freight position and is responsible for delivering and rotating stock. Also responsible for merchandising shelves, racks, equipment, and displays to Company standards. This role requires a high degree of flexibility to cover open needs of the driver team. The position involves transporting and unloading products to retail outlets, merchandising all product inside the outlet to Company standards, and working in partnership with the Sales Supervisor to execute the picture of success. It also requires establishing positive relationships with customers, providing superior customer service, and offering feedback and recommendations to leadership on competitive threats and business opportunities. The role involves setting up merchandise and sales promotion displays, communicating store-level issues to management, complying with DOT rules, maintaining rapport with customers, collecting breakage or out-of-date product, and ensuring accurate accounting for all cases and customer transactions. Additionally, the CDL Driver Merchandiser is responsible for the proper care of product, equipment, and route settlement daily, delivering, rotating, and merchandising product on shelves, displays, and in cold equipment, maintaining backstock in an organized manner, and keeping coolers, racks, and shelves clean. The position may also involve assisting with training, coaching, and succession planning for delivery merchandiser trainees and building strong relationships with the customer base.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 21 years old.
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy.
  • Ability to maintain DOT physical requirements.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies.
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets.
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively in fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to self-motivate and able to perform job duties with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and rotate stock.

  • Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management.
