About The Position
New Way Trucks, founded in 1971, is a leading manufacturer of refuse trucks with facilities across Iowa and Mississippi. We combine small-town values with cutting-edge technology. We are currently seeking a CDL Driver/Material Handler to join our manufacturing team in Scranton, Iowa. This role is crucial for the loading, unloading, and transportation of fabricated parts and subassemblies to and from outsourced vendors.
Requirements
- Class A CDL or ability to obtain Class A CDL.
- Ability to pass background check.
- Obeying and following applicable traffic laws.
- Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it on the trailer.
- Performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting any mechanical issues before driving.
- Read and understand documents, orders, and pick lists.
Nice To Haves
- 1 year(s) driving experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading trailer using forklift or crane.
- Securing the load using straps and chains.
- Driving safely to and from outsource vendors.
- Communicating and coordinating with the Logistics Coordinator.
- Verifying load for accuracy and completeness.
- Helping move materials throughout the plant in between deliveries.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
