About The Position

This role is for a Local CDL Driver/Maintenance Tech who will be responsible for driving, loading/unloading cargo, and performing maintenance tasks. The driver will be home every night and will work at the Crowley plant and other locations (like Lafayette) when not driving. The position requires a valid CDL, the ability to pass a DOT background check and physical, and a clean MVR. Uniforms and a cell phone are provided. The pay rate is $15/hr.

Requirements

Valid CDL or commercial driver license.
Must be able to pass a DOT background and physical.
Clean MVR.
Must pass drug and alcohol test.
Must have clean driving record.
Must provide current MVR.
High school diploma.
Three years of experience working as a CDL driver with no legal or safety incidents on record.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

Completion of professional truck driving educational program.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Enthusiasm for our products and desire to deliver them safely and on time.

Responsibilities

Drive long and short haul distances to deliver goods to customers.
Load and unload cargo.
Record cargo deliveries.
Refuel and clean vehicle.
Report road incidents to the plant manager.
Follow traffic laws.
Inspect trucks and record issues.
Follow accident procedures.
Keep an activity log and log hours.
Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel.
Work with supervisor to keep maintenance up to date.
Plan routes using GPS system.
Get goods to the client on time.
Maintain a positive attitude with customers.
Keep commercial driver license up to date.
Provide back haul information for each load.
Check in with supervisor on a daily basis.
Work in warehouse when there are no loads to drive or other duties at the plant.
May be required to work in other departments when not driving.
