About The Position

Kamco Supply Corp. of Boston is New England's largest one stop source and distributor of commercial building products including acoustical ceiling systems, architectural doors and hardware, drywall, steel framing, insulation, and exterior systems. We are seeking to add a Boom Driver to our team. The Boom Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of building materials using a boom truck (knuckle boom or crane). This role requires advanced skill in operating hydraulic equipment to place materials directly at job sites, often at elevated heights or in tight-access areas. This is a highly safety-sensitive position requiring precision, situational awareness, and strong customer interaction.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class A or B license
  • Current DOT medical card
  • Hydraulic/boom (hoisting) license as required by state
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass MVR checks
  • Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment physical and drug screening
  • Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to operate heavy equipment in a controlled and precise manner
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50-100 pounds occasionally
  • Frequent standing, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to safely operate equipment at heights

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating a boom truck
  • Experience delivering building materials to construction job sites
  • Moffett (truck-mounted forklift) experience
  • OSHA 10 certification (required on some job sites)

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a CDL Class A or B boom truck to deliver materials to customer job sites
  • Operate hydraulic boom/crane to place materials accurately at elevated or hard-to-reach locations
  • Plan and execute safe load placement, including setting up proper stabilization (outriggers) and site safety zones
  • Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections, including boom components
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload materials while preventing damage
  • Maintain DOT logs, delivery paperwork, and compliance documentation
  • Communicate with dispatch, site supervisors, and customers regarding delivery details and placement requirements
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use and job site hazard assessments
  • Assist with warehouse operations, staging, and loading when not driving
