About The Position
ABC Supply, America’s largest wholesale distributor of exterior and interior building products, is seeking a licensed CDL Driver to advance their career. This role ensures the safety of each delivery from the facility to the job completion. ABC Supply is an employee-first company, recognized for its commitment to employee well-being and career development. This position offers professional driving opportunities with a Monday-Friday, 6 am-3 pm schedule, allowing drivers to be home every night. Responsibilities include customer interaction, maintaining a safe work zone, adhering to delivery schedules, documenting deliveries, performing truck load checks, assisting with material unloading, completing paperwork, and collecting payments for COD deliveries. Warehouse duties such as loading and unloading materials may also be assigned. This position does not require over-the-road travel.
Requirements
- Valid CDL – Class A or B
- Ability to lift 75-100 pounds repeatedly
- Pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens are required
- Hazmat endorsement is required
Nice To Haves
- Box and/or flatbed truck experience is preferred
- Knuckle boom truck experience is preferred
- Trailer mounted forklift experience is preferred
- Crane certification is required
Responsibilities
- Treat customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Conduct a safe work zone during each job site
- Adhere to assigned delivery schedule and follow all job directives precisely
- Document every step of each delivery by taking and uploading photos with our camera phone system
- Complete a thorough load check on your truck before leaving the branch, ensuring that all delivery materials are firmly secured and all parts of your truck are in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Work in cooperation with the Delivery Material Handler to determine where to set the materials and unload them
- Complete and file all logs and required government paperwork in a precise and timely manner
- Provide the customer with an invoice on completion of each delivery and collect the entire due amount on COD deliveries
- Perform warehouse work, including loading and unloading of materials on to or off of trucks or into warehouse as assigned
