About The Position

The position of Delivery Driver-CDL will work in all aspects of warehouse operations, with the primary duty of delivering product to customers and jobsites, including the loading, unloading, securing and transporting of such materials. Eckart LLC is a full-service, wholesale distributor of electrical, Lighting, Plumbing, HVAC, Power and Hand Tools. We pride ourselves on the expertise of our staff and a strong inventory of the highest quality products in our industries. Eckart has over 50 years of experience in all facets of these industries.

Requirements

• Must already have commercial driver license prior to hiring
• Final candidates will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• Customer Service experience preferred
• 1 – 3 years CDL driving experienced preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform general physical activities to load, unload, sort and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment
• Operate, navigate and drive all company fleet vehicles in safe, efficient manner following the rules of the road set by government legislation
• Accurately pull material from location to fill orders
• Pack, label and put filled orders in proper location for delivery
• Operate forklift
• Load delivery truck in a safe manner, according to company policy
• Inspect truck & trailer according to company policy and DOT standards, to ensure it is in good working order
• Communicate any vehicle safety issues you have immediately to your supervisor
• Plan delivery routes, with co-ordination from the shipping supervisor, to maximize efficiency while on the road
• Plan routes in a manner to meet and/or exceed delivery deadlines
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions for work assignments
• Participate in the loading and/or unloading of company fleet trucks
• Follow Department of Transportation policy and procedures regarding Load Securement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods and operation of a commercial vehicle
• Provide information for the completion of incident reports in relation to health and safety issues
• Maintain a good driving record
