About The Position

The Driver-Large Store Delivery is a non-touch freight position and will make deliveries to customers along their assigned route. This role requires a high degree of flexibility to cover the open needs of the driver team. The driver will transport and unload products to customers, communicate any store-level issues to management, and comply with DOT rules for driving purposes. Maintaining rapport with customers, establishing positive relationships, and providing superior customer service are key aspects of this role. The driver will also provide feedback and recommendations to leadership on competitive threats and business opportunities, and work effectively with all functional team members. Responsibilities include safeguarding Company assets, collecting breakage or out-of-date product, and ensuring accurate accounting for all cases and customer transactions. The role also involves ensuring proper care of product and equipment, and daily route settlement. Building strong relationships with the customer base and merchandising product inside the outlet to Company standards when flexing to another Driver role are also part of the duties. Appropriate duties as assigned by management will also be performed.

Requirements

Minimum of 21 years old
Class A Commercial Valid Driver’s License required, and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
The ability to maintain DOT physical requirements
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
Ability to read, write and speak English
Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6 to 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Must be able to operate a manual or motorized pallet jack
