The delivery driver will transfer products, goods, and other merchandise from one location to another. This role involves driving company vehicles to deliver lumber, building materials, hardware, and other building and maintenance supplies to customers' homes, construction sites, or places of business. The driver will also collect payment from customers on COD orders, verify order details, and obtain customer signatures. Efficiently locating delivery addresses using navigation tools and maintaining accurate tracking of delivery information are key aspects of the job. The role also includes collecting and organizing paperwork, acting as a customer service liaison, and handling customer complaints or requests. Additionally, the driver may collect or pick up empty containers or rejected merchandise, load vehicles safely, and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of company vehicles. Routine safety checks on vehicles are also required. This position may also involve assisting in the yard and warehouse with stocking, loading, and organizing materials, as well as assisting customers in the yard with loading and product questions when not driving. Compliance with all company safety standards and federal, state, and local laws is mandatory. The role also requires operating a forklift and attending all store meetings and training sessions. Other related duties may be assigned.
