About The Position

The Driver-Large Store Delivery is a non-touch freight position and will make deliveries to customers along their assigned route. This role is responsible for transporting and unloading products to customers, communicating any store-level issues to management, and complying with DOT rules for driving purposes. The driver will maintain rapport with customers, utilize a handheld device, and establish positive relationships while providing superior customer service. Feedback and recommendations on competitive threats and business opportunities are to be provided to leadership. The role requires the ability to work with all functional team members, safeguard company assets, collect breakage or out-of-date product, and ensure accurate accounting for all cases and customer transactions. Proper care of product, equipment, and route settlement daily is essential, along with building strong relationships with the customer base across assigned customers. Appropriate duties as assigned by management will also be performed.

Requirements

Minimum of 21 years old
Class A Commercial Valid Driver’s License required, and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
Ability to read, write and speak English
Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6 to 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Must be able to operate a manual or motorized pallet jack
