About The Position

High Country Beverage is Colorado's family-owned beverage distributor, hiring a Delivery Driver Trainee for our Grand Junction facility. This is a full-time, entry-level role with local routes, no overnights, and weekends off, meaning you'll be home every afternoon. No prior CDL or commercial driving experience is required, as the company covers 100% of your Class A CDL training costs. You will gain experience by riding along with experienced drivers and working with a CDL instructor. The schedule is Monday through Friday with early morning starts, typically between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Clean driving record.
Ability to pass DOT physical and obtain DOT medical card and CDL learner's permit.
Must be able to report to work reliably and maintain regular attendance.
Ability to lift 30-pound cases on a regular basis and handle kegs weighing up to 160 pounds.
Offers of employment are contingent upon successfully completing applicable background screenings, a post-offer physical examination, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Ride with experienced Delivery Drivers on local routes, assisting with safe loading, unloading, and customer service while learning routes and procedures.
Participate in paid in-house Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) to earn a CDL learner's permit and then a Class A license.
Help deliver beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages to retail accounts using a hand-truck and electric pallet jack, ensuring product is rotated first-in-first-out at every stop.
Maintain a current DOT medical card and CDL learner's permit throughout training, and stay compliant with company drug, alcohol, and motor vehicle policies.
Demonstrate team dependability through reliable attendance and engaged training to ensure team resources and support are available.
