About The Position

Sterling Crane LLC, a leader in the heavy lift industry since 1954, is seeking a CDL Crane Rigger for their Pleasanton Branch. As part of Marmon Holdings, backed by Berkshire Hathaway, Sterling Crane offers operated and bare rentals, sales, parts, and unparalleled service. The CDL Crane Rigger will work closely with the crane operator, haul heavy equipment, assist with building mobile cranes, and report to the operations manager. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL A required.
• NCCER or NCCCO crane rigger certified.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Successfully pass post offer drug and physical screens and have a background/MVR that meets company requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and able to work effectively with others.
• Strong customer service skills to communicate with onsite project managers.
• Strong knowledge of math applications, weights, and measurements.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify safety issues.
• Must be willing to follow safety procedures.
• Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50lbs.
• Most be able to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects/materials.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all applicable rigging.
• Hauling heavy materials and equipment.
• Knowledge of rigging equipment capacity and weight limits.
• Signal crane operator during lifts for directional or placement instructions.
• Climb structures with safety harness to guide and position load.
• Ensures rigging is safe and reliable before engaging in hoisting and lifting.
