About The Position

The Class A Truck Driver is a highly motivated and experienced driver that is detail oriented, has strong communication skills, and is willing to work as a team. Must have experience with manual transmissions, double axels and longer trailers as well as experience in off-road driving and rough terrains. Our drivers must always drive safely and be professional and courteous when talking with Supervisors, coworkers and customers. Requirements

Must hold a valid Illinois Class-A CDL with air brake endorsement.
Must have a minimum 2 years’ experience as a CDL driver
Clean driving record with no moving violations
Clean background check and drug test
Experience with manual transmissions, double axles and longer trailers
Experience in off-road driving & rough terrains
OSHA familiarity/training
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Diligent attention to detail and safety
Excellent verbal communication and customer orientation

Responsibilities

Obeys all local, State, Federal and IDOT regulations
Inspects truck and equipment before leaving and after arriving at locations
Safely transport equipment to customer locations in a timely, safe and courteous manner
Maintain driver logs and complete pre-trip inspections
Follow all Homer Tree Service Procedures and Safety Standards
Adhere to all safety requirements particular to the equipment, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
Maintain a clean truck, equipment or machinery
Assist in loading and unloading of materials
Transport materials from place of origin to assigned destination
Ability to work effectively, both independently and as a team
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Effective Communication with supervisors and coworkers
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Crew Leader

Benefits

Starting pay is $25-$30/hr
Pay is determined by experience, skill, education, and other factors
Able to enroll in benefits after 60-day new hire probation period
